Family & Newborn
Love Letters to Kitty
I literally can't recommend her highly enough. I loved the photos on her website, but could not have imagined how magical, gentle and amazing the photos would be that she took for us. She was so lovely; warm, friendly and professional and totally went above and beyond what we expected to help us get the photos we wanted. Thank you Kitty, I can't thank you enough ~ Daisy
Payment plans available. I am based in a castle studio close to Bath but will travel (for mileage) and I am frequently in the Hertfordshire/London area so do enquire if you’re further afield.
FAQs
What’s the process?
Once you’ve reached out, I’ll send you a guide to my services and my style. You are welcome to ask any questions you need to make sure this is right for you. Once the booking has been agreed, I will send you a style guide, a questionnaire and a non-scary contract. By the time the day arrives, you’ll be all prepared and excited for our shoot - promise!
What time of day is best?
All photographers will tell you that the light as the sun rises or sets is magical because it genuinely is other worldly. I can hear your objections from here; it is way too late for your little ones. All I can say is that this is a one time occasion and one late night of adventure will be an experience they’ll treasure. I do understand though, and any time other than the blazing sun of midday works if we can’t make the sunset magic happen.
For indoors newborn sessions, any time of day that works with your schedule is perfect.
What if it rains?
If it drizzles we proceed; a little smatter of rain can be epic & atmospheric. If it pours, we can absolutely reschedule; it’s best for my equipment and your pictures that we don’t get drenched. I keep enough free space in my diary that we can usually find something to work for everyone if we need to find a different date.
What will I wear?
For family shoots, it’s best to wear something in a neutral tone without logos or patterns. Feel free to send me links on websites or pictures of your existing outfits (Zara is fantastic for inspiration or buying your outfit). My style guide can be found here for guidance, along with my client closet - you’re welcome to borrow anything that might fit you.
What if my child/newborn doesn’t behave?
For family shoots - although smiles and laughter are always lovely, a little personality is warmly welcomed. I want you to look back on these photos in years to come and see their characters shining through the photos.
Saying this, I always have bubbles to hand to lighten the mood and non-messy treats are encouraged. My sessions are fun, natural & relaxed so try not to worry about everything being picture perfect - we’re there for long enough to allow moods to dissipate and I have never had a shoot where we didn’t capture some smiles & intimate moments in between the madness.
For newborn shoots, everything is very baby-led; I allow you to feed when you need and for any difficult moments to be calmed before I begin shooting again. The experience is gentle & relaxed; we will take our time and create magic & memories for you to keep always.
